Privacy policy

This covers the therapy types tool at therapytypes.virsentio.com, run by Virsentio. It is separate from the policy for the main Virsentio site, because this tool collects much less than the rest of the business does. Where the two differ, this one governs anything you do here.

What this tool stores

• Your answers, saved as short codes rather than sentences. There is no box anywhere in this tool for writing about your situation, so there is nothing of that kind to store.
• The therapy types you were shown, so that your results link keeps showing what you were actually given.
• How far you got, which is how we learn where people give up and where the questions need work.
• The date you started and finished. The date only, not the time of day.
• A random results link, so you can come back to your shortlist later.
• Your email address, and that you agreed to hear from us, but only if you chose to give it. Skipping that step is a normal way to use this tool and costs you nothing.

What this tool does not store

• No cookies. Not for tracking, not for advertising, not for measuring visits. Nothing is written to your browser.
• No third-party analytics or advertising. No Google Analytics, no pixels, no embedded scripts from anyone else. Every file the page loads, including the fonts, is served from this site.
• No name, phone number, or address. You are never asked for any of them.

There is no sign-up here and no account. What we will not claim is that your answers are unconnected to you: give an email address and it is stored alongside them, which links the two. You are told that before you are asked, and skipping it is always an option.

One thing worth being straight about: our hosting provider keeps short-lived technical logs of requests, as every web host does, and those contain IP addresses. We do not add to those logs, do not copy anything out of them, do not connect them to your answers, and do not use them for analytics. They expire on the provider's own schedule.

What it is used for

• Producing your shortlist and the page it lives on.
• Emailing you that page, if you asked for it, plus occasional follow-ups about finding a therapist. You can stop those at any time.
• Counting, in aggregate, how many people start, where they stop, and which answers and results are common. This is how the tool gets better. It is never used to build a profile of an individual.

We do not sell your information, and we do not share it for anyone else's advertising.

Your results link

Your shortlist lives at a web address containing a long random code. It cannot be guessed and it is not listed in search engines. But it is not password protected, so treat it the way you would any private link: anyone you forward it to can read it.

How long any of this is kept

Records are deleted automatically after about twelve months. This is routine housekeeping and nothing more. Your results link stops working at that point, and if you want your shortlist for longer, save the page or the email.

Who else handles it

Running the tool means a few companies process this information on our behalf, under their own agreements with us, and only to provide their service to us:

• Vercel, which hosts the site.
• Supabase, which stores the answers and results.
• Resend, which delivers the email, and only if you gave an address.

We may also disclose information if the law requires it, or where it is necessary to protect someone's safety.

Your choices

• Skip the email. Your shortlist still works. It is offered, never required.
• Unsubscribe whenever. Every email has a link, and your mail app's own unsubscribe button works too. Your results link keeps working afterwards.
• Ask for a copy, a correction, or deletion. Email info@virsentio.com with "Privacy Inquiry" in the subject line. Include your results link if you still have it, since without an email address or that link there is no way for us to find your record among the others.

Do Not Track

Some browsers send a Do Not Track signal. This tool does not track you across websites under any circumstances, so there is nothing for the signal to switch off.

People under 18

This tool is for adults. It is not intended for anyone under 18 and we do not knowingly keep information from them. If you believe someone under 18 has used it, email info@virsentio.com and we will delete the record.

If you are in California

The California Consumer Privacy Act gives you the right to know what is collected, to have it deleted, to opt out of its sale, and not to be treated differently for exercising those rights. We do not sell personal information. To make a request, email info@virsentio.com and say you are a California resident making a CCPA inquiry.

If you are outside the United States

This tool is operated from the United States and information is stored there. Privacy law where you live may differ from United States law.

Links to other sites

Your results page points to therapist directories, and the Virsentio section links to our own booking form. Those are separate services with their own privacy practices, which we do not control. Your results link is not passed along when you follow them.

Changes

If this policy changes, the updated version appears here with a new effective date.
